Parenting Education

Young mothers who enter our doors, come with hardly any point of reference as it pertains to parenting. They arrive in crisis, in perpetual survival mode and ill-equipped financially, emotionally and psychologically to embrace motherhood.

Lack of a mother's attention, especially in early childhood, can negatively impact a child’s personality and in the long run, his or her future. MOMMAS House helps young mothers gain parenting skills so their children have the best chance at a successful life.

Our parent educator makes sure moms are learning the knowledge and skills presented in the program. Pre and post assessments allow us to measure a young mother’s comprehension and help those who struggle with embracing their role so they can become nurturing mothers and role models.

Young mothers are overwhelmed with poverty and new motherhood. We address anxiety and depression through intervention treatment plans in coordination with external mental health providers.
