Healthy Birth Outcomes
Every baby is deserving of the healthiest possible start in life. Having a healthy pregnancy can be difficult under the best of circumstances. Women living in crisis and homeless need a tremendous amount of support to take care of their health and the health of their baby. At MOMMAS House, we do all we can to help and support our young moms and give them much-needed services. Pregnant women living in residence are provided with:
Referral and Access to Prenatal Health Care
Doulas - non-medical professionals who offer emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Doulas support and advocate for young mothers as they navigate the health care system and access prenatal care.
Child Birth Preparation and classes covering Breastfeeding, Newborn Care and Infant / Child CPR and First Aid.
Visiting Nurse Service for new mothers
Case Management
Support and guidance
Healthy food and basic needs
Mental Health / Substance Abuse Treatment Programs Referrals, as needed

Our goals include:
100% of women, upon admission, will secure prenatal care throughout the remainder of pregnancy.
100% of babies born, while in residence, will be of healthy weight.
100% of babies will be born full term.
